Battered by continuous storms here in the southland, the boys and I had gone weeks without waves. Then, all of a sudden there was a break. I immediately threw the gear in the rig and made a b-line for the coast. The waves were still pretty stormy but every now and then the wind would shift off-shore and a double overhead right would fire perfectly across the jetties.
